Masterwork of Pen & Ink

This Roy Krenkel rendering is PROBably my favorite pen and ink drawing of all time, of any artist. Even though it's a static portrait, the intense lines are full of energy, mystery and adventure. To me, it's outrageously mesmerizing, a masterwork.

Thomas,

What a beautiful drawing! I think the first time I saw this was in the wonderful book on Roy's art Swordsman and Saurians! Krenkel remains one of my favorite artists and this is a beautiful example of his talent!

It was linear art that first attracted me when I was 6 years old. The thick and thin energy of living lines. Of course I couldn't express that clearly to my parents, who insisted I buy candy instead of comic books with my allowance money. Later on a paper route financed my nerdy lust for colour separated images.
